For many companies, the use of artificial intelligence is an important component of digital transformation. But handling sensitive data — for example from the areas of technology, sales, research or customer service — requires the highest security standards. Cloud solutions are often ruled out due to concerns about data protection, regulatory requirements, and the protection of trade secrets. Solutions are needed that provide AI functionalities without data leaving the company.
Together with the customer, Liquam has developed a tailor-made on-premise AI solution that operates artificial intelligence directly in the company's secure IT environment — without an external cloud connection.
A practical example:
A critical infrastructure manufacturer wanted to use AI to automate processes, but was not allowed to use cloud services for compliance reasons. The aim was to build a powerful, locally operated AI platform that processes company-specific knowledge and meets the highest data protection requirements.
In this project, Liquam has developed an AI platform that is operated entirely on-premise — on the customer's servers or in their data center. After analyzing the requirements and data sources, a modular architecture was set up that trains and operates AI models locally.
The platform uses internal data sources such as technical documentation, product data, CRM or ERP data to automatically process inquiries, optimize processes or provide knowledge. It can be integrated into existing systems and monitored via dashboards.
The solution is scalable and can be supplemented with additional modules such as machine learning, language processing or image analysis — all within the customer's secure IT environment.
